Don’t practice until you get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong.
60-Minute Practice Guide
Make the most of your simulator time by combining focused practice with virtual golf. First, work on your skills using TrackMan and video feedback. Then, put those skills to the test on the course.
First 30 minutes: Practice on the range
Hit 5-10 shots per distance or club (aim for about 7). Reference the feedback from Trackman or video after every shot.
**Optimal pace is 2 shots per minute.
WEDGES/SHORT IRONS - Practice shots to two distances
50 yards
100 yards
IRONS - Practice your irons
Practice with 3 irons of your choice
Ex: 9-iron, 7-iron, and 5-iron (odd-numbered irons) or 8-iron, 6-iron, and 4-iron (even numbered irons)
WOODS - Practice your woods
Practice with 2 woods of your choice (including your driver)
Ex: hybrid and driver or 3-wood and driver
Not sure what to work on? Book a lesson with a Pure Drive instructor. We’ll help you create a plan and identify the feedback that’s most useful for your game.
Next 30 minutes: Play virtual golf
Now it’s time to put your practice into action! Playing a virtual course helps you practice choosing shots, managing the course, and using your skills in a course setting.
Choose a course that suits your ability.
Select tees that match the distance you typically play.
Turn on auto putting to spend more time on full shots and play more holes.
Aim to play up to nine holes, but don’t worry if you don’t finish. The goal is to use your remaining time to practice playing golf.
